Whether you are new to casino betting or a casino veteran, black jack is one of the simplest and most exciting card games betting houses have to provide. The goal in chemin de fer is to beat the croupier by acquiring a hand value as close to twenty one as as you can and not exceeding 21. To compete in chemin de fer, you only require a general understanding of the rules and a desire to have fun.

So how do you achieve 21? In twenty-one, the cards have values. Numbered cards 2 up to 10 are valued at the number printed on the card, while all face cards (King, Queen and Jack) are valued at ten points. The ace is a unique card in black jack: you decide whether it’s worth 1 or eleven points. Since casino players are dealt 2 cards to start, if you are given an ace and a face card or ten,you have twenty-one-an immediate win, as long as the dealer does not get 21 at the same time. This two-card winning hand is called a "black jack"; hence the name of the game!

Casino rules for chemin de fer are basically the same at all betting houses. After you are dealt your initial 2 cards, your options are to hit, stand, double down, split your hand into 2 hands with a second wager equal to the first, or occasionally give up.

When you play twenty-one at a casino, be certain to know which blackjack table to choose. Most casinos have color coded black jack tables depending on the minimum bet the table accepts, typically $3, five dollars, $25 or $100. In any betting house, it is a certainty the $3 and 5 dollar tables will be crowded, but they are fantastic for newcomers at black jack because all of the cards are dealt face-up, instead of the one-up, one-down concept at higher tables. So the upcoming time-or the first instanceyou goto a casino, be certain to sit down at the chemin de fer tables and target for twenty-one!
